Does Power Shock contain cyanuric acid?
No. Power Shock is Cal Hypo, so it adds no cyanuric acid. It raises free chlorine to shock levels without pushing CYA toward the ceiling, ideal for pools already stabilized.
What is breakpoint chlorination?
Breakpoint chlorination raises free chlorine high enough to destroy chloramines in one shot. The Model Aquatic Health Code caps combined chlorine at 0.5 ppm, and shock reaches breakpoint to clear it.
